Valencia Travel Guide - Spain

Valencia, Spain's 3rd largest city, is situated on the country's eastern Mediterranean coast. One of the most lively cities in Spain, Valencia has an extremely active nightlife, an abundance of beaches, delicious seafood and paella and a rich local culture.

Besides its many historical buildings, Valencia has become an even more popular destination due to Santiago Calatrava's futuristic Arts and Science Center, a feat in 21st century architecture. Nevertheless, Valencia remains refreshingly unmarred by tourism, and there is a ferry service that connects the city to the Balearic Islands if you want to enjoy a tropical vacation.

In March, Valencia stages one of Spain's most spectacular fiestas, Las Fallas, in which giant papier-mache sculptures are burned in the streets. This is just one of many events that valencianos use as an excuse to party and enjoy life to the fullest... come learn Spanish in Valencia and you'll see why its residents can't help but be happy all year round.
