Some of the greatest names Western art - Velazquez, Goya, Picasso, Miró, Dalí - hailed from Spain. We will examine peninsular architecture, painting and sculpture from ancient times to the present day and learn to identify the major styles that have defined multiple civilizations. Romanesque, Mudejar, Mozárabe, Renaissance, Baroque, Neoclassicism, Surrealism, Cubism... these are all essential terms for understanding Spanish Art History and we'll examine them in detail.
If you can already speak Spanish comfortably in everyday situations, you're eligible to take this course.
