Monteverde Travel Guide - Costa Rica

Monteverde boasts an amazingly unique natural habitat: it is located right by a biological cloud forest reserve. Within a small, rural area of just 26,000 acres, you will find over 2,000 different types of plants, about 400 species of birds, and 100 kinds of mammals!

Monteverde's climate creates temperatures between 18º and 24ºC (65º and 80ºF). Keep in mind that the rain season falls between the months of May and December, and it can be chilly at night, so we recommend you that you bring the appropriate attire (rain jacket and boots, sweaters and a light jacket).

If you are interested in environmental conservation and want to be surrounded by people who give the highest respect to the habitat around them, Monteverde is the perfect place to learn Spanish. From a biological perspective, this area is one of the most fascinating in the world.
